Record-breaking Show Opens its Doors to the World

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, the largest spring jewellery event in Asia, celebrates its 28th edition this year and presents a record-breaking number of over 2,800 exhibitors from 46 countries and regions, with a new participating country - Ethiopia.

Italy, a key player known particularly for quality of materials and imaginative designs, is the Partner Country of this Show, bringing us impeccable designs at its Pavilion. Also look out for a seminar on Day 2 (5 March) for Italian design and market trends.


  In the Limelight
At the press conference on 22 February, the media were updated on the latest developments and outlook for the jewellery industry.

Winners of the 12th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, held under the theme “The Glory of Spring,” were also announced. The winning creations are on display in the Hall 1E Concourse, providing inspirations for all visitors.

  Stunning Selections
Themed zones, focusing on key market segments, ensure that buyers are able to easily locate suppliers that best suit their needs. The 2011 show marks the debut of the Hall of Chic located at Expo Drive Hall, showcasing silver and fine jewellery exhibitors. Other highlighted zones include:

Hall of Fame, bringing together top-flight brand names in elegant surroundings and showing off the displays to best effect;
Hall of Extraordinary, an elite section reserved for exclusive and high-end fine jewellery masterpieces;
World of Glamour, playing host to Hong Kong-based exhibitors that wish to emphasise the fine quality of their jewellery;
Hall of Nature, giving prominence to loose diamonds, precious stones, South Sea pearls and Tahiti pearls; and
Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria, offering exhibitors in this growing sector the opportunity to meet specialist buyers.

Other zones include Designer Galleria for design-driven collections; Exclusive Showroom (Diamonds) offering a secluded area for exhibitors specialising in high quality diamonds; Hall of Jade Jewellery; and the ever-popular Hall of Time, showcasing watches and timepieces.



  Market Updates
The five days of the show are filled with plenty of events, including parades showcasing inspirational exhibits of different zones, as well as seminars led by industry experts on such topics as design and market trends in Italy and Russia, online diamond trading, and coloured sapphires.
