“Thein Than Yadana sells and supplies a variety of loose diamonds as well as jewellery collections in Myanmar. We currently operate three retail shops in Mandalay, the second-largest city in our country. This is my fifth-year visit to the Hong Kong fair sourcing various loose diamonds. The focus is mainly on diamonds of one to five carats, plus some smaller-sized stones. I have already got in touch with five new suppliers from Israel and India for a selection of diamonds in different sizes. Further talks will be conducted after the exhibition and I expect to place orders worth about US$100,000 in total. This is a good fair featuring so many suppliers from different parts of the world. I really enjoy sourcing through this ideal trading platform. Everything has been well organised and managed.”
Thein Zaw, Owner, Thein Than Yadana Gems and Jewellery, Myanmar |

“In business for about 20 years, Gemetrix specialises in sourcing loose diamonds for jewellery manufacturers in Australia. I have been visiting Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show over the past few years to find new suppliers. I am looking for small diamonds with a size up to 0.5 carat. So far, I have found several new suppliers from India. Further discussions will be carried with them. I will introduce a variety of diamonds I have selected to those jewellery manufacturers we represent. The amount of potential orders under negotiation is estimated at US$500,000. I am positive about concluding deals with the new suppliers. This fair is a convenient place to visit and an important sourcing platform for us. The scale is so big that buyers can basically find everything we need here.”

“Jungle Jewellery is primarily engaged in the wholesale business of pearls from South China Sea, Tahiti and Japan. We also produce some diamond jewellery collections for customers in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. As part of expansion, we have branched out to the direct sale of products to end-users. We are exhibiting here for the fifth consecutive year to promote our products. The buyers’ response we’ve received this year is even better than last year. So far, the new buyers we met this time were mainly from the Chinese mainland, with some overseas customers from countries like Italy and Australia. They are interested in both our pearls and diamond collections. Several buyers from the Chinese mainland have already bought some pearls on the first day of exhibition. We are quite satisfied with the results. This international trade fair offers a solid platform for us to find new buyers and raise our company profile.”
Au Yan Kit, Manager, Jungle Jewellery Ltd, Hong Kong (booth no. AWE 1-P11) |

“Shanghai Gems specialises in the collection and sale of premium natural pearls worldwide. We have been participating in Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show for many years to showcase our rich collections and reach out to more customers. The response from buyers has been positive again this year. Our highlights include various natural pearls from South China Sea, and Tahiti, clam pearls from Southeast Asia and abalone pearls. Many of our pearls are unique and rare to find, making them very valuable and appealing. On the first day of exhibition, some customers from India and Hong Kong have already come and bought some pearls they like. Despite a slow global economic environment, we continue to maintain good business with customers worldwide especially those from Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland, UK and USA. This fair is always a good place to explore new business opportunities for growth.”
Yungmie Chin, Manager, Shanghai Gems SA, Switzerland (booth no. AWE 1-A14) |
