“With a history of more than 40 years, Moira Fine Jewellery is a family-run jewellery company in the UK. We specialise in fine antique and vintage jewellery ranging from the early Georgian period through to modern day. This is our second year at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show. At last year’s show, we made good contacts with buyers from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and continue to do business with them. It is a good time to come here again to explore new business because the European retail market is quiet. To reach out to more international buyers, we have two booths this year located in the Hall of Extraordinary and the Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria respectively. The Hong Kong fair provides an important channel for us to develop the mainland market which is developing fast due to its stronger economy.”

“In business since 1930, our company focuses on producing mughal art jewellery and kundan meena jewellery. India is our major market, and we also sell our jewellery to Europe and the Middle East. The HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is a successful show which always helps us to expand into new markets. It’s one of the best platforms for jewellery suppliers to make new contacts, introduce our new lines to existing customers and develop new markets. That’s why we have been exhibiting at the fair for the sixth consecutive year. So far, we have met with new buyers from the Far East and the Middle East.”
Abhishek Ghatiwala, Owner, Arnav Jewels, India |
|
“Founded in Poland in 1988, my company specialises in designing and manufacturing silver and titanium jewellery. All my products are handmade and distinguished by my unique designs. Apart from selling in the domestic market, I also export my products to Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and the UK. As the European economy remains weak, we have joined the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show for the first time to look for new partners in Asia who will buy our products. We have been busy talking to a lot of visitors who are interested in my designs and also found some potential buyers from Australia, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and the US.”

“In business for more than 60 years, Luxury Brand Holdings owns two jewellery brands, Ross-Simons and Sidney Thomas, and sells all kinds of jewellery from fashion jewellery to fine jewellery and watches through our catalogues, websites and retail stores. We have visited the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show for many years because March is a good timing for us to purchase new items for holiday seasons and previews in order to stay ahead of the trends. The Hong Kong show is very important to us. We can’t survive without this show. Before coming to the Hong Kong show, we have fixed 50 appointments including those arranged by the HKTDC’s business matching team. We already bought samples for all our product lines such as pearl jewellery, diamond jewellery and gemstone jewellery.”
Adrienne Dequarto, Director, Catalog Merchandising, Luxury Brand Holdings, the US |
|
“Altinbas has 100 franchised stores and 30 self-owned stores in Turkey and Eastern European countries including Bulgaria, Macedonia and Romania, selling 18k gold jewellery with diamonds and 14k plain gold jewellery. It is important for us to visit the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show every year to find new products and new designs and to see the latest trends and developments in the jewellery industry because all the major jewellery suppliers gather here. So far, we have found two new suppliers of diamond jewellery from Hong Kong. We plan to increase our imports from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong because they offer design-driven diamond jewellery and their micro pave setting skill is excellent. The Hong Kong show is a good place for us to meet a lot of suppliers from these two places.”
Esra Sezgin, Director, Global Sourcing, Altinbas Jewellery, Turkey |
|
“The Italian Jewellery Silverware and Watch Federation has 8,000 members, 90% of whom are retailers and the rest are manufacturers and wholesalers. The HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show provides an ideal sourcing platform for our retailers. It also offers a good opportunity for them to see how the jewellery world is changing. It’s a wonderful show that indicates jewellery trends. Sales of jewellery in the Italian market dropped by 15 per cent in 2014, but it is increasing in 2015, with medium to high-end jewellery items being well-liked by Italian consumers. The Federation will organise a delegation of about 40-50 Italian retailers to visit both the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show next year to source new products.”
Steven Tranquilli, Chief Executive, Italian Jewellery Silverware and Watch Federation, Italy |

“The Italian pavilion has brought together 32 Italian jewelers to feature the best of loose stones at Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show. Our collections include corals, pearls and gemstones like turquoises and ambers. At Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, 163 Italian companies are also showcasing their exquisite jewellery collections. We’ve received positive responses from many customers including buyers from the Chinese mainland, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia. Hong Kong is an international hub for jewellery trade and definitely the preferred place to do business. And, these two fairs are our top trade event to promote Italian jewellery and loose stones to global customers.”
Paola Guida, Trade Commissioner, Italian Trade Commission, Italy |

"We are a distributor of fine diamonds and supplier of exceptional quality emeralds. Our products are selling to customers all over the world from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland to Malaysia, Indonesia, the Middle East, USA and Europe. Emco Gems owns its emeralds mine in Colombia. We manufacture rough emeralds and use the best stones to make high-end jewellery. We have been exhibiting in Hong Kong for many years to grow business and achieved terrific results. This year, we are highlighting our white and fancy colored diamonds as well as emeralds and jewellery collections at Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. We already sold some emeralds to buyers from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. We will continue to participate in this fair because this is an important meeting place with our clients."
Yaron Nhaissi, Managing Director, Emco Gem Inc., USA |
|
"In business for almost 30 years, Green Gems supplies high-end emeralds from Columbia and Zambia with our own factory in India for polishing and cutting . With overseas offices in Belgium, Japan and Thailand, our emeralds are selling in different parts of the world. Global demand for quality emeralds is strong and prices continue to rise steadily. We are showcasing our fine emeralds as well as a selection of high quality rubies and sapphires from Myanmar at Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show this year. We've sold some emeralds in single pieces to regular customers from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. This is a good show for us to meet international customers and enhance business relationships."
P. Surana, Partner, Green Gems, Hong Kong |
|
"With a business history of almost 40 years, Neli Gems offers a great variety of fine emeralds and colored diamonds to worldwide clients. We focus on the classical emerald cuts in different sizes catering to various needs of customers. Asia has been a fast-growing market over the years and the Chinese mainland market presents good potential for growth. Hong Kong is a hub for jewellery trade and a gateway for expansion into Asia. We've been participating in Hong Kong fairs for many years to promote our products and grow business. This is an important trade show for the industry. Our clients from all over Asia always come and visit the Hong Kong fair for sourcing."

"Gemerald is an Israel-based manufacturer of high quality emeralds. Our factory boasts the most advanced polishing techniques with highly-skilled and experienced employees to produce fine emeralds in a wide range of shapes and sizes. We have been exhibiting in Hong Kong for many years with encouraging results. Today, we've established a strong profile in this part of the world. At this year's Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, we are promoting our emeralds again to extend our presence. Buyers from different markets such as Hong Kong, Europe and USA have struck deals with us and bought some emeralds already, mostly those in the size of two carats. The signature emerald cuts and oval cuts remain the most popular among customers. This is a major trade fair for everyone in the industry to develop business."

"Maxim's runs nine retail shops in different airports in Laos selling a wide range of silver jewellery and pearl items. We have been in operation for 15 years with a strong presence in the market. This is my first visit to Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. So far, I've found two semi-precious stone suppliers and will place a small amount of orders. It's very nice that Hong Kong International Jewellery Show takes place at the same time. I've visited the Wan Chai fair and closed deals with three exhibitors from Hong Kong, India and Thailand. A total of about US$10,000 was spent to buy some silver jewellery from them. The two fairs are excellent and well organised. I like them and will definitely come again."
Dang Thi Dung, Owner, Maxim's, Laos |
|
"Phouvwong Jewelry is a major jewellery retailer in Laos. At present, we operate two jewellery shops in the capital city of Vientiane selling a great variety of 24k gold jewellery items as well as custom-made jewellery for clients. Our brand is a household name in our country. Demand for fine gold jewellery is very strong and we are planning to open another shop this year. This is the second year we've come to Hong Kong for sourcing. We are looking for loose diamonds at this fair to make our own jewellery collections. Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show is huge in scale and we expect to find some suitable diamonds at the right prices before the end of the fair. We've also visited Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and already placed about US$50,000 worth of orders for fine jewellery with a Hong Kong exhibitor. In the past, we sourced mainly from suppliers based in Thailand. The two Hong Kong fairs have become very important sourcing places for us now. The transportation arrangement is perfect, making it easy and convenient to travel between the two exhibition venues in Wan Chai and AsiaWorld-Expo."
Manivanh Phamisith, Manager, Phouvong Jewelry, Laos |

“Jewellery Jamboree Gems is a jewellery wholesaler based in Toronto. We source gemstones from different places around the world to make jewellery and sell our collections mainly to jewellery retailers. This is the first time I’ve visited Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. The fairground has been nicely designed and divided into different zones, making it easier to find specific suppliers. I’ve already met with three suppliers from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, and spent about US$9,000 to buy some gemstones such as tourmalines, diopsides and apatites. I am looking for more suppliers and expect to purchase some US$70,000 worth of goods in total. I will also visit Hong Kong International Jewellery Show to source silver jewellery. The show has been well organised and I will come again.”
Reza Piroznia, Owner, Jewellery Jamboree Gems, Canada |
|
“In business for 33 years, Javad Medalian Gallery is a jewellery wholesaler in Iran. We have been buying jewellery items and materials from different markets including Thailand, India and Beligum. Hong Kong is also a major sourcing place for us. This is a good show with an amazing mix of exhibitors from different parts of the world. So far, I’ve identified 5 to 10 new suppliers from Hong Kong, Thailand and India for loose diamonds, emeralds and pearls. I am still finding more suppliers and materials, and intend to places some US$100,000 worth of orders during the show. I will certainly visit the fair again next year.”
Mohammadjavad Medalian, Owner, Javad Medalian Gallery, Iran |

“Our family has been engaging in the jewellery business for more than 50 years. Liévano Joyeros is a jewellery house that designs and makes our own 18k gold and platinum jewellery with diamonds, emeralds and pearls. Our exclusive jewellery collections are designed especially for engagements and anniversary celebrations. This is my first-time visit to Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show. I’m overwhelmed by the scale of exhibition. There are so many exhibitors and everything has been so organised. I’ve got in touch with 15 suppliers from Hong Kong, USA and India.”
José Ignacio Liévano, Director, Liévano Joyeros, Colombia |

“We are a family-run jewellery specialist in Singapore. Besides wholesaling business, we offer custom-made designs for a niche group of high-end customers. I am visiting the Hong Kong fair to source different materials including loose diamonds, color stones and pearls. In the first two days of exhibition, I’ve already concluded deals with 10 suppliers from Japan, Thailand, Israel and Hong Kong. In total, I purchased about US$100,000 worth of goods from them, mainly diamonds and color stones with a size of 3.5 carats to 6 carats. I will visit Hong Kong International Jewellery Show tomorrow to find finished products as our company is developing a new jewellery line. This is an interesting fair offering so much to see and buy. I will definitely return.”
