The International Jewellery Design Excellence (IJDE) Award showcases the "best of the best", being open only to top prize winners at other international jewellery design competitions. The ultimate winner will be named the highest honour 'Champion of Champions' during the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show on 4 March 2009.

IJDE Award 2009 received 170 entrants from 27 countries and regions; among them seven submissions from the Chinese mainland, and 24 from Hong Kong; 43 from Europe; and 42 from North America.

The top 8 designs were chosen in the first round of judging held in November 2008. The Final Judging and the Award Presentation Ceremony will take place at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show in March 2009.
